History:
  1. 1955 Henry Cecil publishes the book Brothers in Law
  2. 1957 The film Brothers in Law (Richard Attenborough, Ian Carmichael, and Terry Thomas)
  3. 1962 The BBC produces the TV series Brothers in Law in 13 episodes. Richard Waring, Richard Briers, John Glyn-Jones, June Barry starred. Scripts were written by Muir/Norden (6), Richard Waring (5), Myles Rudge (1) and David Climie (1).
  4. 1970 The BBC produces Radio series 1 in 13 episodes adapting the TV scripts to radio (adaptations by Richard Waring). Produced by David Hatch.
  5. 1971 The BBC produces Radio series 2 with 13 new scripts written by Henry Cecil and Basil Dawson. Produced by David Hatch or Simon Brett (episodes 11 and 12).
  6. 1973 The third and final radio series is broadcast, consisting of 13 new scripts written by Cecil and Dawson or just Cecil alone (episodes 7, 9 and 10). Produced by Trafford Whitelock.

It is claimed that all three seasons were distributed by the BBC Transcription Service. All monophonic recordings are off-air and exhibit hiss and reduced sound quality.
